Philosophy of Care

Eversleigh provides a home where residents can feel cared for, safe, comfortable, and able to live as full a life as they can.

Care

We want every resident to enjoy the best quality of life and we offer personalised care based on each resident’s individual needs, abilities and preferences. Families play a large role in our residents’ lives and are always welcomed and encouraged to visit and to share their ideas and feedback. Those who are interested in coming to Eversleigh are encouraged to visit the home and sample the surroundings, the atmosphere and the quality of the care we offer. Personalised care plans are discussed and agreed with the resident and their family as well as other professionals involved. Plans are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure they reflect changing needs.

Choice

We work to maintain each resident’s sense of dignity, value and self-esteem. We encourage residents to make their own decisions and to take care of their own day to day needs when they can or wish to. We listen to residents and their families and adapt accordingly to meet their changing needs.

"Dear Mrs Kandola I was rather frail when I came here from the acute ward at New Cross Hospital on January 18th 2016. With genuine kindness and confident ability to care blended with cheerfulness and good humour your carers have seen my situation really improve, so much so that on March 1st ( with the help of Physiotherapist ) I stood on my own two feet for the first time since the explosion at home on late December."

Health and
medical needs

Each resident’s health is very important. Residents are given the choice of retaining their own GP if the GP is willing to visit Eversleigh. If not, they can choose an alternative local GP. We register short-term placements with a local GP on a temporary basis.

Meals

We provide high quality meals which are freshly prepared at Eversleigh. We actively consult residents about menus to ask their preferences and we welcome families’ and residents’ feedback via meetings and Quality Questionnaires so that we can adapt our meals to include these choices. Individual meals are prepared when residents require special diets.

“Most of the unseen Eversleigh team of workers I shall never know, no doubt each one plays a part in the Eversleigh Care Centre experience. My Thank you to you all.”
